What is your boating background?
Having grown up in Wisconsin my boating began on Lake Winnebago and Little Lake Butte des Morts, mostly fishing for perch, trolling for walleye and waterskiing on my dad’s 17’ Chris-Craft aluminum fishing boat. But my real boating experience began after marrying Scott (husband & business partner), and becoming boat owners ourselves. We’ve owned a variety of power and sail boats - and have enjoyed boating on both coasts, the Great Lakes, and the lakes of Oklahoma and Missouri! Our ownership and enjoyment of a trawler on Puget Sound enticed us into the boat business — just in time for the Great Recession. We’ve stuck with it and enjoy our full-time, all-the-time involvement with boats.
Do you currently own a boat? What kind?
Presently Scott and I own and live aboard an Ocean Alexander 546 — a “yachtfisher” styled twin-engine motoryacht that makes a great and roomy liveaboard. We don’t miss much about living on dirt.
What is your favorite boating destination and why?
Boating with our young family of four to Catalina Island are fond memories, and with friends on the Ashley and Cooper Rivers in South Carolina and the ICW are too. But at this time whether it’s Lake Washington, Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Desolation Sound...my favorite “destination” is wherever we are boating. Just getting out on the water — and if family is with us it’s all the better. The beauty, the adventure, the water-related activities all provide great joy.
What do you feel your customers especially appreciate about how you do business and attend to their needs?
It is always pleasant (but not a surprise) when our buying or selling customers report to us how impressed they are with our professional, honest approach, follow-through, and commitment to customer service. It is of great importance as a co-owner of Waterline Boats that the high integrity, honesty and loyalty that we strongly believe in is instilled in, and practiced by all of the WLB Crew.
