Camano 31 Trawler Gnome

November 21, 2013

This 2003 Camano 31 is one of few built without a flybridge – and identified as a “Gnome”.
Gnomes, as everyone knows, guard treasure, and this low-profile beauty is a hoard of value.

Some customizations include:
Electric pot puller
Rod and tackle storage
Stidd helm seat
New cork interior flooring
Custom stainless steel low profile radar arch
Stainless steel topside rails to tie down crab/shrimp pots, kayaks, or…

The Camano 31 has rightly earned the reputation of being well-designed and carefully built. The result is a sturdy, maneuverable, economical and capable vessel. And there are very few boats of this size that offer such a roomy, bright interior space and 360° visibility.

The Camano 31 Trawler (Trolls and Gnomes) are well-regarded boats for many reasons.

  • Quality Canadian craftsmanship
  • Stable, efficient Keelform hull design
  • Stout, sturdy, capable construction
  • 360 degree visibility from helm
  • Easy-to-maintain inside and out
  • They usually survey very well due to design and construction
  • They hold their value well
  • the list goes on and on…..

This 1996 Camano 31 is unbelievably clean and shows as nearly new. Which is a tribute not only to the previous owners, but to the quality of construction of these popular Pacific Northwest Trawlers. This particular model has many system and interior upgrades which make an already desirable boat even more appealing!

New Camano 31 Launched!

September 29, 2011

As becomes a spirited lady, LADY IN RED arrived with a flourish and fashionably late. The first new Camano 31 Trawler from Camano Yachts America has launched and is undergoing sea trials in preparation for delivery to her new owner.

Tradition was broken this year when the 19th Annual Pacific Northwest Camano Rendezvous was held in the US instead of Thetis Island, BC. Camano Trolls, Camano Gnomes, Camano 41′s and the recently-launched Bracewell 41 were gathered at the Lopez Islander Resort in Fisherman Bay on Lopez Island. Attendance was smashing this year with 32 vessels and 64 Camano enthusiasts! Food, spirits, activities, conversation, prizes and fun were abundant. A great time was had by all!

~Camanos and owners preparing for the Friday evening Trawler Crawl which was followed by the traditional Camano Rondy pot luck.

~Camano 31 Trawlers await their owners to return from the plentiful island activities.

~Saturday Farmers Market is already a popular destination for Islanders and was heavily attended by folks from the Camano Rendezvous.

~U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary officer Gary Ford led a very informative boating safety discussion. Camano owners warmly welcomed Gary and his wife Tara despite their arrival in a red-hulled Nordic Tugs trawler!

~Boaters shared (confessed) their most embarrassing / harrowing / disastrous boating experiences and their “lessons learned”. The group voted and determined that Bron’s & Jay’s story was the BEST. Their lesson — trust your fuel gauges and don’t let your fuel get too low!

A big Thank You to the following for their gift donations:
Vic Harrison, SEA Magazine, Peoples Bank, Nor’westing Magazine, Northwest Yachting Magazine, West Marine, Coastal Marine Engine, Fisheries Supply, Trident Funding, Marine Detail Specialists & PassageMaker Magazine.

Want to attend next year’s rendezvous? Make your next boat a Camano 31 or Bracewell 41. View our inventory at camanotrawlers.com

Bracewell 41 Launch!

July 2, 2011

Bracewell Boatworks launched another Bracewell 41 Performance Trawler (built on the Camano 41 Keelform hull design) Tuesday 28 June, sold by Waterline Boats of Seattle. The proud new owners are Rod and Becky Nowlin (pictured above). Becky christened “R-N-R” with an explosion of champagne, and Rod followed with firecrackers at the bow, a Thai tradition said to frighten evil spirits away.

After cruising the world in their steel-hulled sailboat for 15 years, Rod and Becky selected the Bracewell 41 as their new home and will focus their cruising on the beautiful waters of Alaska, British Columbia and Washington.

Rod and Becky are pictured with Lance Bracewell of Bracewell Boatworks, and Scott and Lisa Helker of Waterline Boats.

Fresh From Alaska!

May 31, 2011

This tasty one-owner 2003 Camano 31 Gnome Trawler is At Our Seattle Lake Union Docks!

Before delivery from Alaska to Seattle this Camano Gnome was kept in dry indoor storage for eight months yearly — which accounts for the low engine hours and great condition. And she’s well-configured for fishing with a custom electric pot puller, rod holders, rod storage and a beautiful top quality Stidd helm chair.

The Gnome model is built without a flybridge giving it a lower profile and providing a wealth of topside storage for crab pots, fish net, kayaks or whatever!
