Bracewell Boatworks launched another Bracewell 41 Performance Trawler (built on the Camano 41 Keelform hull design) Tuesday 28 June, sold by Waterline Boats of Seattle. The proud new owners are Rod and Becky Nowlin (pictured above). Becky christened “R-N-R” with an explosion of champagne, and Rod followed with firecrackers at the bow, a Thai tradition said to frighten evil spirits away.
After cruising the world in their steel-hulled sailboat for 15 years, Rod and Becky selected the Bracewell 41 as their new home and will focus their cruising on the beautiful waters of Alaska, British Columbia and Washington.
Rod and Becky are pictured with Lance Bracewell of Bracewell Boatworks, and Scott and Lisa Helker of Waterline Boats.

This tasty one-owner 2003 Camano 31 Gnome Trawler is At Our Seattle Lake Union Docks!
Before delivery from Alaska to Seattle this Camano Gnome was kept in dry indoor storage for eight months yearly — which accounts for the low engine hours and great condition. And she’s well-configured for fishing with a custom electric pot puller, rod holders, rod storage and a beautiful top quality Stidd helm chair.
The Gnome model is built without a flybridge giving it a lower profile and providing a wealth of topside storage for crab pots, fish net, kayaks or whatever!

So you’ve probably heard about the 19th annual Camano Rendevous scheduled for the Lopez Islander Resort at Fishermen’s Bay? Disappointed because you’re not invited? Here’s the perfect opportunity to earn an invitation and attend the rendezvous…… in STYLE!
Cruise to Lopez Island in this classy, cruise-ready, price-reduced 2006 Dealer Demo Camano 41 Performance Trawler!
The Camano 41 was created after the success of the Camano 31, and for performance and comfort is unmatched by anything else on the water in this size range.
The expansive salon is warm and welcoming. The open, clean layout is finished in sapele and mahogany. A 360 degree view provides excellent visibility, and also creates a bright airy feel. Two Flexsteel barrel (rocking/swivel) chairs, convertible sofa (queen size, deluxe air mattress), and mobile adjustable table and entertainment center are featured in the salon. An attractive coordinating double helm chair sits directly across from the nicely appointed galley. The entire “great-room” concept makes for a wonderful social atmosphere and is perfect for family, friends and rendezvous entertainment.
The comfortable master stateroom includes an island queen with Memory Foam mattress, abundant drawers and storage compartments, hanging lockers and even a washer/dryer. A large private shower compartment with sink/vanity is located in the aft portion of the stateroom. The separate easy-to-maintain head is centrally located mid-ship.
The commanding flybridge has a bimini cover, ample seating and plenty of room for a dinghy. This Camano 41 is very well-equipped with two Espar forced-air heating systems, twin installed electric heaters, trash compactor, ice-maker, watermaker, Northern Lights generator, Magnum Pure Sine inverter/charger and so much more.
Stable, fast, efficient, spacious, practical comfort……it all adds up to boating fun on this Camano 41!

Rod and Becky Nowlin are pictured with Lance Bracewell aboard their new Bracewell 41 trawler, under construction at the Bracewell Boatworks yard in Richmond, BC.
Their blue-hulled Bracewell 41 is progressing quickly toward a June completion. Rod and Becky have specified several custom features on their boat, including a commercial-duty Isuzu 7.2 liter 344 hp engine custom refrigeration and freezer systems with engineroom-mounted compressors, several galley modifications, and a custom entertainment center with a drop-down GIGANTIC wide-screen LCD TV.
Rod and Becky selected the Bracewell 41 after extensively interviewing Lance, and following careful examination of the construction of a prior Bracewell 41. In 15 years cruising the world in their steel-hulled sailboat they’ve acquired a deep knowledge of what works and what doesn’t, and made their decision accordingly. Rod is retired US Navy, and they both are well-known in cruising circles (google “Rod Nowlin”…) for having successfully defended themselves against a pirate attack in the Gulf of Aden in 2005. Their world-cruising came to an abrupt end before dawn one morning in 2009 when their sailboat was struck by a Baltic Sea ferry operating without a proper watch – another remarkable story. They have even more tales of extreme situations and adventures at sea!
Rod and Becky are Alaska residents, intend to live aboard their Bracewell 41, and will focus their cruising on the waters of Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington.

Built by Camano Yachts Ltd. and Bracewell Boatworks from 1990 through 2007, the remarkable Camano 31 trawler has remained in demand. Featuring consistently high quality, a proprietary, efficient hull design, and a practical, no-nonsense approach to comfortable cruising, nearly 270 Camano 31 models (Trolls and Gnomes) were purchased by an enthusiastic group of owners. The model now continues under the manufacture of Camano Yachts America.
The success of the Camano 31 provided the foundation for the Camano 41 – with extraordinary seakeeping characteristics and a roomy, luxurious interior. Bracewell Boatworks has adapted and updated the Camano 41 model, and is now producing the striking Bracewell 41.

The new Camano 31 is another step closer to completion, with the joining of the deck to the hull. She’s on-track for her debut at the Seattle Boat Show – January 21 – 30.
John and Lynn Bowen of Ferndale, WA have purchased this red-hulled beauty and are closely monitoring its completion. They are knowledgeable boaters, and John has been a boat builder himself, so they’re contributing ideas and preferences from their experience, making this an enjoyable and exciting project for everyone involved.

Waterline Boats is happy to announce that the first new Camano 31 Trawler — built by Camano Yachts America — is now progressing quickly and is within a month of completion.
Caution against launching a new vessel during the circumstances of the past two years has kept this project in virtual mothballs. But with an upswing in interest for new boats and a buyer (a very boat-knowledgeable Washington couple) the project is moving ahead. Other orders are in the pipeline so production will be increasing.
The photos show the boat in its current state of assembly in Anacortes, Washington.
It’s been said that “rumor is a woman running, in a red dress”. Much buzz in the Camano community has attended the rumor that the hull is red. This rumor can be confirmed as true! The new boat is definitely an attention-getting departure from the 270+ beige Camanos that have preceded it.
The new Camano 31, with a number of upgrades and improvements from the previous Camano 31s is the right boat for the times. It’s efficient, sturdy, and bigger in interior space and sea-keeping ability than its size implies. Now with a choice of hull and superstructure colors and many options. And still a great value for a quality American-built performance trawler yacht, priced at $229,000 USD.
